I am on a bit of slow cooker kick right now…I have to tell you, my family does not love pork chops. No matter what I do to them they come out dry and yucky. So I thought, hey I will try them in the magical slow cooker, my new best friend! Here is the recipe I tried (from allrecipes.com):
Pork Chops in the slow cooker
Ingredients
- 6 boneless pork chops
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- Place pork chops in slow cooker. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over pork chops.
- Cook on Low setting for 6 hours, until internal temperature of pork has reached 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).
I cooked them for 10 hours because that is how long I was out of the house for. They came out perfectly. The sauce was so yummy, with a great ginger taste. The kids loved them and said they were the best pork chops they have ever had. They each ate a full pork chop. I was impressed and will definitely make this one again!
